How billing works
Server-side persistence costs one credit because the platform stores the result. Local-device work does not use server storage.
- Saving to a server-side storage target costs 1 credit.
- Writing to a connected local device is not billed by the API.
- A storage failure refunds the file-save charge.
Price in practice
The distinction is where the file is stored. Server-side persistence uses platform storage and has a fixed operation cost; writing to the caller's connected device does not.
This page describes the save operation only. Ongoing capacity needs belong to the Cloud capacity price guide.

Questions
Why are local files free?
The work happens on the connected device, so IaGenify does not retain server storage for that operation.
When is a file save billed?
Only when the platform persists the file in server-side storage.
Are saves to my own device billed?
No. A connected local device does not use server storage.
